Artist's Statement:

There are many terms I could use in describing how I feel when I am creating art... enjoyment, challenge, curiosity, discovery, fulfillment. Well, you get the idea. Laying down an image accurately reflects my thoughts, perceptions and ideas and is quite special. It is even more special when viewers see my art and are struck with a sense of delight.

My art subjects reflect my own life experiences... I enjoy what daybreak does to landscape, whether it is the Grand Canyon or a neighbors pasture. I enjoy shade trees and water puddles... I enjoy interactive influence of people/figures in my art.

My art reflects life's generalizations... I attempt to share personal perceptions through subject selection, technique, composition, and medium.

My realistic style allows me great latitude in subject approach, creation, interpretation, development and application.

My themes center on inner-city culture, my slant is outdoors and backyard-esque scenes. Also, black history, children, progress leisure and love.

I earned my Fine Arts degree at Bishop College of Dallas, Texas. I have continuing exhibits at The Matthias Galleries in Houston, Texas, as well as LaMere et L'Enfant Gallery in Houston. As a member of the color pencil society, I exhibit through their association.

I also enjoy displaying and selling my art at some local and national festivals throughout the year.

Artist's Bio:

I realized my dream to become a professional artist a few years ago following a successful 20 year career as an insurance executive. I display and sell my work at local galleries, festivals, art shows and studio shows. The response to my work has been overwhelmingly encouraging. I hold a Fine Arts Degree from Bishop College of Dallas Texas. My training has been primarily in art history, drawing and oil painting. I acquired an interest in color pencil a few years ago and have developed quite a following. I have work in several private collections and galleries in Colorado and Texas.

Currently, my work is displayed at Matthias Galleries of Houston, La Mere et L’Enfant Gallery of Houston

Out On A Limb Gallery of Canyon City Colorado and I have recently established a relationship with the Cloister Gallery in Downtown Houston.

I do three top level festivals a year as well as numerous local exhibits through art leagues, art societies, companies libraries etc.

A calendar of activities is available on my website. I also do occasional workshops for local art associations including the color pencil Society, an organization devoted to the development of color pencil art.
