Artist's Statement:
I was born in Virginia, but have lived in Houston, Texas for the past 25 years. I grew up on the East Coast and was a science major in college. After college I worked in medical research until I began my family. While raising my children I began to allow myself the opportunity to explore my first love, the arts. I studied many years at the Glassell School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston where I explored many different media.
I discovered that the colors and texture of paint best allowed me to express myself. Since I left the Glassell School, I have continued to paint in my own studio. My work has been shown in a variety of venues in Houston and the state of Texas.
I hope that my art will continue to evolve throughout the years ahead. I continue to challenge myself with new materials and colors and look forward to seeing where this takes me.
