Artist's Bio:
As art, product, furniture, and architecture blur, John Paul Plauch? established plodes, a Houston based "design everything" studio, in 2003. His work communicates a clear, conceptual intent, infused with process and meaning; while acknowledging everyday observations, behaviors, and personal experiences. A native Texan, John has a BA in architecture from the Gerald D. Hines School of Architecture at the University of Houston.
John recently debuted his "Barnacle" storage pods at the 2004 International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York in a collective booth sponsored by Metropolis Magazine entitled "ICFF RAW: The Next Generation".
Designing to address common issues, some serious and others not, the bulk of his current work has been product, furniture, and graphic/web design. John also works as a designer for the award winning architecture firm Kirksey here in Houston.
