D'Lisa O. Creager
Houston, TX
Artist's Bio:
Raised in southern California, D'lisa Creager has always had a strong interest in creative activities. While her formal education is in social psychology, she is an avid interior designer and artist focusing on mid-century design. She has recently remodeled several mid-century dwellings in period design. It was actually through these efforts that her interest in painting and mixed media developed. When it became difficult to locate authentic artwork to support her decorating activities, she began to create her own custom pieces for the interiors. Her pieces are heavily influenced by the op art movement and designers such as Verner Panton, Victor Vasarely, and Juergen Peters. She is self-taught and her work continues to evolve. The Lawndale Art Center?s 2004 Big Show is the first juried competition in which she has entered her work. Her 4 panel piece entitled Tunnel Vision (pictured) was accepted into the show.
