Artist's Statement:
The bulk of my work is based on functional items found in suburban environments. Working from memory rather than observation, I create generic representations that are void of individual characteristics. The detraction of specific markings and features results in an archetype specific to American suburbia. The imaginative, cartoon sensibilities of the pieces are derived from my own intuitive interpretations.
This allows a playful transformation to occur, further detracting from the object\'s specificity.
