Lawndale’s 20th Century Modern Market is the only antiques show of its kind in the Southwest, exclusively featuring design of the twentieth century. This year’s Market will feature specialist dealers from around the country, offering a variety of media including furniture, glass, ceramics, metalwork, textiles, objects d’art and fashion. Each year in conjunction with the Market, Lawndale offers a free public lecture pertaining to this important era in design.

The Hour: Cocktail Time Design 1930-1980
in conjunction with Lawndale’s 20th Century Modern Market

Lawndale Art Center is pleased to host The Hour: Cocktail Time Design, an exhibition presented by Don Browne in conjunction with the 13th Annual Modern Market.

Over 100 vintage objects from the golden era of smoking and drinking will be exhibited in Lawndale Art Center’s third floor Project Space gallery. The exhibit includes works produced in ceramic, glass, metal and plastic by more than twenty-five significant designers from ten countries spanning the years 1930 to 1980.

The exhibition is free and open to the public:

Don Browne is a collector and dealer in Mid-Century Modern decorative art. The Hour: Cocktail Time Design continues his curatorial exploration of modern design that began with his first exhibition Mid-Century Modern Revisited at Brazos Projects in 2004.
